I am disabled and on a fixed income, so when I tell you a cheaper thing does the job as well as an expensive one, understand that I am arguing myself out of money by telling you.

Twelve Years in One Service Dog Vest: What Actually Holds Up

I bought a service dog vest in 2014 because people kept telling me my dog’s head was too big for him to be what I said he was. I still have the same vest. The velcro still grips like new and the reflective tape is the only thing that has gone. Here is what twelve years taught me about which parts of a vest actually matter, the alteration that saved me buying a second one, and the honest answer on whether it did the job I bought it for.

BarkBox Honest Review: Six Months of Boxes, and What I’d Tell a Handler

I subscribed for six months across 2020 and 2021 and let it lapse. Two things from those boxes are still in my house five years later. One of them I will not give to a working dog, and the reason has nothing to do with build quality. Since I left, BARK has added a perks program advertised at more than $1,500 a year. I went through the arithmetic and almost every dollar of it is a discount on money you have to spend somewhere else first.
