What I can help with

Something on this site is wrong. Please tell me. I’d rather be corrected than be wrong in public, and I’ll fix it and note that I did.
A question about living or working with a service dog — public access, travel, the practical daily stuff. I’ll answer from experience where I have it, and say so plainly where I don’t.

What I can’t help with

I’d rather be honest about this up front than disappoint you after you’ve waited three days for a reply.

I’m not a lawyer. I can tell you what the ADA and the Fair Housing Act say, and point you at the government sources. I can’t advise you on your case. For that, contact a disability rights attorney, your state civil rights agency, or the ADA Information Line on 800-514-0301.
I’m not a veterinarian. Nothing here is medical advice for your dog.
I’m not a trainer, and I can’t assess your dog. I can tell you what mine was trained to do and how our life works. I can’t tell you whether yours is a good candidate — that needs someone who can put hands on the dog.
I can’t certify or register anything, and neither can anyone else. No federal registry exists. If a site offers you one, it’s selling paper.
I can’t place a dog with you or recommend a specific program. For accredited organizations, start with Assistance Dogs International.
